The latest ranking of the best medical schools has been released by U.S. News & World Report, revealing the best schools for primary care and research for 2015.
Harvard University kept its spot as the top medical school for research in 2015 (it earned the same ranking in 2014). Meanwhile, last year's top medical school for primary care - the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill - was overtaken by the University of Washington for the No. 1 spot on the new 2015 ranking.
The rankings for the best medical schools are based on data from 114 schools (including medical schools fully accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and osteopathic medicine schools fully accredited by the American Osteopathic Association in 2013). Schools completed the surveys in the fall of 2013 and early 2014. Factors used to calculate the rankings included student selectivity (median MCAT total score and median undergraduate GPA, acceptance rate) and research activity, among others.

Stanford University has an enrollment of 468, and tuition and fees for the 2013-2014 school year are $49, 780.
Johns Hopkins has an enrollment of 484, and tuition and fees for the 2013-2014 school year are , 512.
The University of California - San Francisco has an enrollment of 632, and tuition and fees for the 2013-2014 school year are , 696 for in-state students and , 941 for out-of-state students.
The University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine tied for fourth with the University of California - San Francisco in the U.S. News ranking. It has an enrollment of 665, and tuition and fees for the 2013-2014 school year are $52, 478.
Washington University in St. Louis has an enrollment of 485 and tuition and fees for the 2013-2014 school year are $54, 050.
Yale University has an enrollment of 401, and tuition and fees for the 2013-2014 school year are $52, 085.
Columbia University has an enrollment of 655, and tuition and fees for the 2013-2014 school year are $57, 261.
Duke University tied for the No. 8 ranking with Columbia University. It has an enrollment of 430, and tuition and fees for the 2013-2014 school year are , 323.
The University of Washington has an enrollment of 918, and tuition and fees for the 2013-2014 school year are , 336 for in-state students and $59, 325 for out-of-state students.
